Cast Glass

NOT Glass!

Cast glass is created by placing glass directly into the mold, or by "dripping" the glass into the mold from a reservoir placed over the top of the mold.   The mold and glass are fired at about 1525 degrees F.   If large chunks of glass are used, the piece is transparent.   If the mold is filled with smaller pieces of glass, the glass becomes opaque because of the small air bubbles that are trapped between the pieces of glass.
